“Two Wings” by Farrés Brothers & Cia arrives at Temporada Alta with a story for all audiences.
The show adapts the illustrated book by Cristina Bellemo and combines puppetry, poetry, and humor to explore the magic of memory.

Temporada Alta will host Two Wings, the latest creation by Farrés Brothers & Cia, one of the most acclaimed family theatre companies in Catalonia. Inspired by the illustrated book by Cristina Bellemo, the play tells the story of Mr. Guillem, an elderly man who discovers a pair of wings in his garden—a mystery that will lead him to reconnect with memories of the past and with the value of friendship. The show will be performed at Sala La Planeta on Sunday, December 1st.

Directed by Dora Cantero, Two Wings marks a return to the company’s origins, bringing back puppetry as a central narrative tool. Starring Jordi Farrés and Pep Farrés, the piece features a dramaturgy that moves between past and present, with a poetic and visual language characteristic of the company. Humor and closeness to the audience are key to creating an experience that resonates with viewers of all ages.

The set design, created by Laura Clos (La Closca), evokes the world of the book with a city full of life and hidden treasures. The music, by Núria Lozano—accordionist and composer from the group De Paper—offers a soundscape inspired by folk music from various regions. These elements, together with lighting by Toni Ubach and costume design by Nídia Tusal, help create a magical and evocative atmosphere that enhances the emotional impact of the story.

Two Wings reflects on fragility, memory, and the ability to find wonder in everyday details. Through the character of Mr. Guillem, the show speaks to the personal worlds we all carry within us—worlds that can fascinate others. In line with the company’s previous works, the play stands out for its ability to reach both children and adults, offering multiple layers of interpretation depending on the viewer’s age and experience.
